Bio

 

Fronted by the fantastic voice of Laura McFettridge, the Violet Signs are a new talent influenced by everything from Blondie and Television to AC/DC, ZZ Top and Fleetwood Mac. 

Based in and around Dumbarton in Scotland, they take their name from a group of signs in the extended astrological zodiac. Those under violet signs are the universe's eccentrics. Forget marching to their own drummer, Violets built their own drum - and it's probably weird.

In late 2021 they released their well-received debut single "You'll Be There" and September 2022 brought the eagerly awaited follow-up "Colours",  with its stunning video.  

Vocalist Laura has regularly played Bonfest and beyond during her time with AC/DC tribute band Herway to Hell. 

Peter Macfarlane, when not hill-climbing and reviewing camping equipment, brings his guitar back to a band after time out making multi-instrumentalist solo work.

Bassist Stephen McKean has previously been in Dream Disciples, working with Fish (ex-Marillion), with whom they toured throughout UK and Europe, while signed to his record label also. 

Drummer Stephen Darroch and Stephen McKean have played together in Black River Devils.
